Ana Luna

Ayurveda Counselor Intern

Biography

Ana Luna PhD, is a clinic trainee in the Ayurvedic Counseling Program at Sevanti Institute. With a doctorate in Counseling Psychology and certification as an RYT 500 yoga teacher, they bring a multidisciplinary background to their work—merging evidence-informed mental health training with classical Ayurvedic principles.

Their introduction to Ayurveda emerged through long-term management of chronic pain and inflammation following a series of car accidents in early adulthood. After recognizing the therapeutic benefits of yoga, Dr. Luna pursued further study, where exposure to Ayurveda revealed a system of care that resonated with their existing knowledge of somatic, lifestyle, and traditional healing frameworks.

In their current clinical practice, under the Supervision of  James Bailey, Dr. Luna integrates Ayurvedic assessment methods to support clients in understanding their constitution (prakriti) and current imbalances (vikriti), offering individualized recommendations for diet, daily routine, and seasonal practices. Her approach is informed by a foundation in trauma-aware counseling, combined with supportive energetic modalities, including subtle energy work, shamanic techniques, and Reiki.

All client sessions are conducted under clinical supervision as part of her training. Dr. Luna is committed to providing thoughtful, personalized care grounded in classical Ayurvedic methodology and supported by a strong foundation in integrative health.
